The Jyotirlinga Experience in Nagpur is a groundbreaking, spiritual journey designed to immerse visitors in the divine essence of Lord Shiva. At Dominix Design Studio, we envisioned an 8-storey building in the form of a Jyotirlinga—a structure that not only represents the symbol of Shiva but also invites guests to experience his timeless presence in a unique, interactive way.
The core concept of the building is deeply rooted in spirituality and symbolism. A ramp spirals along the height of the building, creating a continuous path for visitors to walk, ponder, and engage with the stories of Shiva’s power, presence, and timeless nature. The exterior of the structure is enveloped with glass panels, which will display projections of sacred stories, ensuring that the journey is visually rich and spiritually moving.

The journey begins at the ground floor, where guests are introduced to the foundational concepts of ‘Shiva’, the ‘Shakti path’, and the significance of the Shiva Linga. It’s here that the spiritual odyssey begins, setting the stage for deeper understanding and connection. As visitors ascend via the elevator to the top floor, they are greeted by Kailas Parvat—brought to life through projection mapping, allowing them to experience the grandeur of Shiva’s abode. The top floor offers a sense of divinity, an immersive glimpse into the sacred mountain and its spiritual significance.

The real beauty of this journey lies in the walk down the ramp. As visitors descend, they encounter the 12 Jyotirlingas, each placed along the ramp in alignment with the 12 strokes of the clock. This use of time is symbolic of Shiva’s association with Kaal (Time), reflecting his eternal nature as Mahakaal—the lord of time. Each Jyotirlinga stands apart, spaced along the vertical journey, adding a unique dimension to the experience and reinforcing the theme of time’s infinite flow.
The central core of the building hosts allied activities, like the dark room, where guests are invited to experience various sacred rituals and experiences, further deepening their connection to the divine. These spaces offer reflective moments that complement the larger journey and make each visit a deeply personal, transformative experience.

For the client, the Jyotirlinga Experience is more than a structure—it is an immersive spiritual pilgrimage, a place where the physical and the divine converge. Dominix didn’t just design a building—we created an experience of timelessness, where visitors can touch the eternal, understand the significance of time and divinity, and walk away transformed by the magnificence of Lord Shiva’s presence.
